中国哲学十九讲牟宗三著儒家、佛家、道家这三家都是大家，都决定一个人的基本方向。中国文化，东方文化都从主体之里起点，开主体并不是不要开，你不能把天割掉。主体和天可以通在一起，这是东方文化的一个最特殊、最特别的地方，东方文化和西方文化不同最重要的关键就是在这个地方。有人讨厌形而上学，也就讨厌那个天，他们说儒家的道理是在人伦日用之中，所以人同此心，心同此理，它有普遍性。这个意思是不错的。儒家是有这一方面，所以它“极高明而道中庸”，你着重这一面是可以，但你不能因为着重这一面而否定天那一面。现在的人总以为道德是来束缚人的，所以就讨厌道德，讨厌宋明理学家，因为理学家的道德意识太强。其实，道德并不是来拘束人的，道德是来开放人，来成全人的。 -
