China Chants II与China Chants工在每课的结构上相似，均包含一篇以chant形式出现的课文和若干对应的语言练习。但本书又与第一册不尽相同：首先，全书以语言功能为标准划分成11个单元；其次，语言练习扩展成了5个项目，分别是（1）听力训练（7rue or False）；（2）语音练（Focus on Sound）；（3）语言要点（Focus on Form）；（4）语言功能（Focus on Function）；（5）语言应用（Interactive Activities）。教学过程建议分以下两个阶段进行：（1）语言能力的培养（skill development）和（2）语言的实际应用（skill using）。语言能力培养阶段包括：课前预备活动（warm—up），听录音理解课文（1istening comprehension），朗读和背诵（reading out loud and recitation），以及语言学习（1anguage study）。语言应用阶段包括：功能练习（functional practice），情景对话练习（situational dialogue），语言应用练习（role play and dramatization），小组讨论（group work）和个人／小组研究项目（task—and—project—based learning）。
作者简介
Carolyn Graham纽约大学教授，曾先后任教于哈佛大学、哥伦比亚大学，现在全世界各地进行教师培训工作。Graham教授是Jazz Chants教学法的创始人，创作了大量以Jazz Chants教学法理念为指导编写的英语教材。Frank Tang（唐力行）博士，现任纽约大学英语为第二语言教育（TESOL）系主任，教授。他在中国和美国从事了30多年的英语教育和教师培训工作，并著有多本学术专著和英语教材。David Shroeder，纽约大学爵士音乐系主任，音乐制作人，他在纽约大学开设的爵士乐课程享有盛誉。
