本套教材包括读写和口语两个系列，共五册，其中读写教材为主干，分为三册。读写教材遵循以结构为纲、兼顾功能和话题的原则，语法点、词汇的选择以预科基础汉语教学大纲及新HSK考试大纲为主要依据，语言知识讲解以直观、简要、易懂为原则，严格控制词语的级别，追求科学性；课文内容贴近日常生活，兼顾实用性和趣味性。《天天汉语（读写2）》为读写第二册，共有16课，包括问时间地点、谈学习生活、谈旅行、谈爱好、购物、运动与健身、谈理想、谈习惯、谈科技等汉语交际的基本话题。《天天汉语（读写2）》包括基础汉语语法知识、约400个基本词语以及汉字书写的基本知识。每课包括生词表、课文、语言文化知识、练习四大部分。生词表除拼音、词性、英文释义以外，还配有常见搭配实例；课文配有相应插图，拼音在上，文字在下，拼音部分以词为单位分写；语言文化知识则尽量直观示意，辅以简要讲解，并配以实例、语法格式；练习形式丰富多样，习题难度注重循序渐进，部分题型采用了新HSK题目形式，如句子配对、看图片写句子和阔读理解等题型。《天天汉语（读写2）》适合已掌握200个左右汉语基本词语的来华留学生使用，学完后可达到新HSK三级合格水平。

当前我国在世界各地建立的孔子学院已近500所，汉语国际推广初见成效。中国经济的崛起，极大地增强了汉语作为第二语言学习者对汉语和中华文化的认同感，他们不再满足于说几句简单的汉语，写几个好玩儿的毛笔字，而是希望通过学习汉语深入了解中国，了解中国的文化。正是在这样一种大的背景下，世界汉语教学的形式和内容都在发生变化。过去单一的语言教学已经远远不能满足学习者的需求，如何将语言学习与中华文化的学习在课堂教学中融合，是目前汉语教学界正在关注的前沿问题。《苏州大学师生海内外汉语教学案例》中的文化主题教学案例，就是将语言教学和文化教学进行融合的尝试。本着“以小见大”的编写原则，充分考虑留学生的语言水平，《苏州大学师生海内外汉语教学案例》从跨文化视角选取了九个案例，涵盖了中国饮食、中国传统工艺、中国书法、中国戏剧、中国传统花卉等多个方面。今后我们还将在此基础上扩大编写范围，尽可能勾勒出中国文化的全貌。
