《论语》由孔子弟子及再传弟子编纂而成，至汉代成书。全书共20篇，每篇摘取开头的字句为题。篇内分章，每章记一件事或几句话。孟子，被后人尊封为“亚圣”，与孔子合称“孔孟”。所著《孟子》七篇十四卷，为《四书》之一，内容丰富，涉及政治、哲学、伦理、经济、教育、文艺等多个方面，对后世影响深远。

《弟子规》，清康熙年间秀才李毓秀编著。讲述了为人子弟在家、除外、待人接物、求学应有的礼仪与规范。《增广贤文》是一部古训集、民间谚语集。其内容汇集了为人处世的各类谚语，释道儒个方面思想均有体现。《幼学琼林》，共分四卷，骈体文携程，内容广博，包罗万象，易于诵读，被称为“中国古代的小百科全书”。

She was the daughter of Owen Barfield， Lewis's friend， teacher， adviser， and trustee.
