The first two exams are the basis of numerous Oracle certifications， and they can be prepared for using a variety of SQL and PL/SQL books. （In fact， you can prepare for the first exam using the Oracle Press book PL/SQL 101， which I wrote. 1 don t mean to be self-serving in mentioning it-I really believe its the best preparation available for the first exam.） This book covers the last two exams， and it contains two units-one for each exam. This book is divided into two units， the first containing practice exams for each test in the Oracle8i DBA certification track from OracIe. The first unit has five chapters，one for each exam. Each chapter begins with a listing of all the topics tested by theexam， as defined by the Oracle Candidate Guide， a free publication available from Oracle University. Each chapter also contains three practice tests that are approximately the same length of the actual test you will face on exam day. At the end of each chapter，you will find answers with explanations for each of the questions in the exam， along with a reference back to the topic/subtopic listing the question is meant to address.

This book is divided into five units， each covering an exam in the Oracle8i DBA certification track from Oracle. Each unit has several chapters covering the materialyou need to know in order to pass the exam. Within each chapter， there are severalsection discussions. These section discussions correspond directly to subject areastested in the OCP exams. The discussion presents facts about the Oracle database.Commands and keywords that the user enters arepresented in courier， while newterms or emphasized facts are presented in italics. Particularly important facts andsuggestions are set apart from regular text. They are preceded by the word TIP， and a special icon appears in the margin next to them.
