《中国西南非英语专业大学生及教师英语学习信念研究(英文版)》致力于探索:中国西南非英语专业大学生及其教师的英语学习信念;学习者信念与其性别、专业以及语言水平的变异模式;教师信念与其性别、学位以及教学资历的变异模式;非英语专业大学生与其教师信念的相似性和差异性存在。研究数据的获得采用两套问卷调查和半结构式访谈的研究方式。描述性和开方检验统计学方法用于分析从学生和教师问卷中收集到的定量数据。定性分析方法用于分析从学生和教师半结构访谈中采集到的数据。研究结果表明:中国西南非英语专业大学生坚信“优美的语音对于学习英语非常重要”;他们一般都是“受外在功利驱使而学习英语”,还认为“课外学习与课堂学习一样重要”。同时,中国西南大学英语教师坚信“学生如果不知道单词词义就该学会猜测”;“学生们应该了解英语文化以便说好英语”;教师们还坚信“他们的学生在公共场合说英语总是感到害羞”。研究结果表明:学习者信念与学生的性别、专业和语言水平存在显著差异;教师信念与其性别和资历存在显著差异,但就学历而言,只有一定差异;此外,学生与其教师信念存在一定的相似性和差异性。
