遗失在西方的中国史：《伦敦新闻画报》记录的民国1926—1949（全四册）

　　本书是沈弘教授“遗失在西方的中国史”系列的新作，近3000张珍贵照片+100万文字+特约记者现场报道，原貌呈现了《伦敦新闻画报》记录的民国。全书按时间顺序1926—1929、1930—1934、1935—1938、1939—1949分为四册，再现了民国这二十几年中的历史记忆。《伦敦新闻画报》系统报道了期间发生的重大事件和百姓社会生活，比如除了军阀混战、北伐战争，还有当时的社会状况、百姓生活，民风民俗，更重点的还是在于日本对中国的侵略和长期以来中国人民艰苦卓绝的抗日战争。当时有众多的特约记者和通讯员从中国各地发出了报道，并且拍摄了照片，记录了抗战现场的刀光剑影，为21世纪的全中国人民保存了一份极其珍贵的历史记忆。这些珍贵的图文资料，大多是《伦敦新闻画报》的特约记者发自现场的目击报道，属于第一手的原始资料，它们对于这一时期历史事件的记录和观点往往是中文史料中所忽略的片段，它们所报道的一些事件和中国社会生活的细节往往是中文史料中的盲点；而且其报道的系统性和连续性也是许多其他中西文历史资料所不能企及的。这就为我们研究历史提供了一个客观的参照物。他人的眼睛，西方的视角，历史的定格，补充了我们的民国记忆。

　　沈弘浙江大学外语学院教授、博士生导师。从上个世纪90年代起遍访哈佛、芝加哥、伦敦等地图书馆，搜集了大量国内外难得一见的珍贵图文资料，整理、编译有关中国的报道和记录。目前承担教育部重点攻关项目“外国收藏16—20世纪来华传教士档案整理与研究”、浙江历史文化专题研究项目“外国人眼中的浙江与浙江人”。出版作品有《晚清映像》《中国长城》《老照片中的大清王府》等，近年精心编译“遗失在西方的中国史”系列，已经出版了《记录的晚清1842—1873》《记录的民国1926—1949》等。
