The China Society for People's Friendship Studies （PFS）in coopera-tion with the Foreign Languages Press （FLP）in Beijing has arranged for re-Publication，in the series entitled Light on China，of some fifty books written in English between the 1860s and the founding years of the People's Republic，by journalistic and other sympateetic eyewitnesses of the revo-lutionary events described.Most of these books have long been out of print，but are now being brought back to life for the benefit of readers in China and abroad.

本书分华中抗日根据地的开辟、华中抗日根据地的坚持和发展以及华中抗日根据地的建设3个部分、28章。全面反映了华中抗日根据地史的完整全貌。

本书收录了我国自商周以来在甲骨、金石文字、砖木雕刻等文物古迹中描绘旗帜的珍贵资料，以及近代、现代、当代各时期保存至今的旗帜真迹，原件和图版资料，按历史年代的顺序进行了较为全面的编排介绍。

《民国野史》辑录了民国时期各报刊上发表的轶闻、掌故、趣话，内容涉及政治、经济、文化、军事等。因其搜集标准为：要有趣的，要读者仰天哈哈笑；捧腹呵呵笑；要有刺激的；要政坛趣事，民间怪事；要民国人海中可歌可泣的，因此《民国野史》收集的文章，大多让人捧腹，可作闲人茶余酒后，宽衣解带，横陈一榻时的解颐之作；亦可补正史之不足。
