随着中国会展业的快速发展,展会经济成为经济发展中的一个亮点,从展览的项目数、规模、总体水平和影响看,中国已成为亚洲的展览大国,并正逐步成为亚洲地区的区域性“展览中心”。我国现在已经拥有一批具有国际水平的现代化展览场馆,也举办了一批水平高、影响比较大的名牌展览会,实现了良好的经济效益和社会效益。在会展业方兴未艾之际,会展业的人才培养引起了越来越多的人的重视。会展业的人才属于复合型人才,不但要熟悉展览会操办的一般流程,而且要了解展览项目所在行业的情况,还要具备一定的外语水准,最好还懂经济和管理。会展人才指的是广义的会展人才,其中包括了会展核心人才、会展业辅助性人才以及会展业支持型人才。会展核心人才包括会展策划和会展高级运营管理等人才,他们在行业中层次最高,专业性最强;会展业辅助性人才包括设计、搭建、运输、器材生产销售等人才;会展业支持型人才则包括高级翻译、旅游接待等。为了培养面向会展服务和管理第一线需要的人才,培养学生或从业人员运用英语处理会展相关业务的能力,我们着手编写了这本《21世纪大学行业英语丛书:会展英语》(胡志勇主编),旨在为会展教育和发展抛砖引玉。《21世纪大学行业英语丛书:会展英语》以专业性、知识性、实用性为原则,对会展的相关业务、中国会展业的现状与发展进行了阐述,为会展专业学生及从业人员介绍了会展设计、组织、运作、会展宣传、招展、展台设计、现场租赁、接待及现场服务的相关知识。《21世纪大学行业英语丛书:会展英语》提供了大量会展业对话、表格、会展实务、会展组织建议等,便于读者借鉴。另外,对于会展业相关组织、专业词汇、会展标志作了介绍。《21世纪大学行业英语丛书:会展英语》具有较强的实用性和专业性,适合本、专科在校学生及会展从业人员学习,有助于提高英语交际能力和会展活动业务能力。
