成人英语本科（上册）

　　在我国当前的成人高校公共英语教学中，教材是一个突出的问题。由于受种种客观条件的制约，目前统编成人高校公共英语教材几乎没有，大部分成人院校只能靠使用普通高校的公共英语教材来进行日常的教学。实际上，由于教材，的因素，很多教师根本不知道应该讲授些什么，学生也不知道应该学习些什么，从而导致教学方式呆板、无的放矢和没有“新”内容的教学过程时有发生。学生觉得课程枯燥乏味，兴趣日益减少，教学效果不够明显。为了真正提高成人英语教学质量，使学生确实能够利用英语这一工具来学习国外的先进科学技术，成人英语教学的教材必须实行全面改革。但教材的选择必须具有科学性，选编的教材必须与学生各阶段的知识能有机地衔接在一起，这样才能保证和发挥教材在培养语言能力中的作用。与此同时，教学方法也应该大力改进，改进的目标应该以突出“新颖”为主，让学生能在新鲜感的作用下，趣味盎然地进行学习。改进后的教学方法应是以锻炼学生语言实际运用能力为主要教学目的。著名的加拿大教学法专家，L2教学权威H．H．Stern曾明确指出，“学会如何学习可能是L2教学大纲最重要的问题”。他认为，因为“在校学习不可能使学生能应付一个不断变化的世界中所有新问题”，所以，教育者需要开发学生的“自主性”（autonomy），“给他们自助的能力，以及独立学习的能力”，使其成为“自主的L2学习者”，即一个能“聪明地、有选择地、有效地处理语言学习任务的学习者”（1997）。实际上，自主学习既是“自主的L2学习者”的根本学习策略，同时也是他们的学习目标：在自主学习过程中学会自主学习。只有这样，学生们在离开教师和课堂乃至大学毕业后才能独立进行英语学习和交际，并能在使用中不断提高英语水平，从而能从容地应对日趋国际化的生存环境的挑战。
