本教材的编写是以西方艺术与设计理论史各时期具有代表性的理论文章作为阅读文本,并为每篇课文补写汉语导读和注解。从第九篇选文开始逐步增写英文注解,以使本教材适应于专业理论课程的双语教学。每篇选文后面的“阅读本文的参考读物”,一方面是向读者提供编者写作注解时所采用的参考书目,另一方面是向读者提出对“西方设计理论史”课程所需书目控制的基本要求。为了让读者熟悉西方学者的研究方式,全部的选文均保留原作者、译者或编者的英文注释,插图编号及说明也按照原著面貌保留。书后附有中英文索引,方便读者查找专业术语和相关人物。本教材在课程设置的衔接上,要求读者应当修完“西方艺术史”(包括建筑史和设计史)、“艺术概论”和“设计美学”等专业理论课程,英语水平要求相当于“大学英语”四级程度。既可用于设计专业英语精读课程,也可用作专业英语泛读材料还可用于“设计理论”或者“西方设计经典文献导读”课程的双语教学。
作者简介
邵宏,广州美术学院艺术史教授,暨南大学文艺学博士,中国美术学院美术学博士,广东美学学会副会长,曾入武汉理工大学管理学博士后流动站作设计管理学研究。已出版的专著有《艺术史的意义》、《美术史的观念》、《衍义的气韵:中国画论的观念史研究》;译著有《美术术语与技法词典》(台译)、《西方美术理论文选》(合译)、《文艺复兴的思想与艺术》。
