墨西哥简史

　　“剑桥国别简史丛书”是剑桥大学出版社自20世纪八九十年代始陆续推出的一套插图版国家简史丛书。丛书作者均为英国、美国、澳大利亚等国的历史学教授或知名专家。他们用通俗易懂的语言向读者介绍了所述国家的政治、经济、文化和社会历史变迁。图书权威、通俗，可读性强。丛书出版后获得了巨大成功，有的品种重印多达10余次。我社从中精选10本奉献给读者。《墨西哥简史》为丛书中的一本，介绍了墨西哥从公元前1000多年奥尔梅克人最早定居、1915年西班牙殖民者入侵、1821年获得独立、1910年资产阶级民主革命爆发至2000年一党执政局面的结束长达3000多年的历史，描绘了这期间墨西哥国内各种宗教文化因素、政治经济派别以及社会各阶层之间的矛盾冲突与历史推进的关系，对其与最大邻国——美国的关系也作了着重叙述。

　　布赖恩·海姆奈特：英国埃塞克斯大学专门研究拉丁美洲历史的教授，研究领域涉及拉丁美洲和伊比利亚半岛国家。他尤其专注对墨西哥的研究，近作包括对墨西哥殖民时代后期、其独立进程以及贝尼托·华雷斯政治生涯的研究。
