作者简介
L.G.亚历山大是世界著名的英语语言学专家，1932年生于伦敦，曾先后受教育于戈德尔明文法学校和伦敦大学。毕业后他在德国、希腊等地教授英语，曾任雅典普罗太潘·莱凯恩大学英语系主任。1968年至1978年他担任德国业余大学联合会顾问：1973年至1978年期间，他是欧洲现代语言教学委员会理事会的成员。他也是《英语人门》和撤梯》的作者之一，这些现代化的教材成为许多交际语言教程的基础。他还是《英语语法结构》的作者之一，该书是以教与学为目的进行结构排列的基本纲要。1986年至1988年，他担任剑桥大学国际交流英语证书地方考试委员会的顾问。他的著作极为丰富，包括：《新概念英语》《看、听、学》《英语主流》《跟我学》《问与答》《英语辩论手册》《朗文英语语法》《朗文高级英语语法》
