《国际中文教师中华文化通识》根据国际中文教学的特点，选取了国际中文教师所应了解的中华文化常识，包括中国历史、中国地理、中国哲学、中国宗教、中国古代社会制度、中国文学、中国艺术、中国工艺、中国建筑与园林、中国民情与民俗、中国教育与科举制度等14个方面的内容。国际中文教师可以在语言教学时结合中华文化常识加以解释，从而取得更好的教学效果。
