四五、“My country，right or wrong”之出处

吾前所记“My country，right or wrong！”（吾国，是耶，非耶！）一语盖Stephen Decatur（1779—1820）之言。其全文如下：
"Our country! In her intercourse with foreign nations may she always be in the right; but our country, right or wrong."
—Toast given at Norfolk, Apr. 1816.

吾国乎，吾愿其永永正直而是也，然曲耶，直耶，是耶，非耶，终为吾国耳。
